THE TRANSPORTATION CORPS
REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION

 

PURPOSE:  Provide information about the Transportation Corps Regimental Association

1.  The purpose of the Regiment Association is to promote the Transportation Corps Regiment; preserve its history and traditions; and foster member professional development. 

 2.  The Regimental Association, a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization, was formed in September 1990.  It was designed to support specific objectives of the Transportation Corps Regiment.  Membership is open to all military and civilian personnel of all grades in the Active and Reserve Components.  Membership is also open to retirees, cadets of the service academies, military schools, and ROTC programs, as well as others who subscribe to the purposes for which the Association was formed.

 3.  The Regimental Association devotes its efforts and activities to the goals and purposes set forth in its Bylaws.  These efforts and activities include, but are not limited to:

     a.  Preserving the spirit, traditions, heritage, and history of the Transportation Corps.

     b.  Promoting the professional development of its members.

 4.  The Regimental Association accomplishes its goals by:

     a.  Awards Program.  The awards program recognizes individuals who distinguish themselves through meritorious performance that further the purpose of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps Regiment.

     b.  Educational Scholarships. The Regimental Association provides monetary scholarships for members and their families to be used in the pursuit of higher education. 

     c.  Meetings and Socials.  By conducting an annual meeting (February) and periodic socials in conjunction with professional development classes, the Regimental Association seeks to foster the tradition and heritage of the Transportation Corps as well as professionally develop its members.

     d.  Transportation Corps Professional Bulletin.  All members will receive a paid, yearly subscription to the Transportation Corps Professional Bulletin – The Professional Bulletin is a semiannual publication which covers all aspects of Transportation Corps trends, developments, and events.

     e.  Redbook. All members receive a copy of the TC Redbook. The Redbook is an address listing of TC Active Duty commissioned officers, warrant officers, command sergeants major/sergeants major, and DA Civilians; Active Guard and Reserve commissioned officers; Army Reserve commissioned officers and warrant officers; National Guard commissioned officers, commissioned officers serving in the Acquisition Corps and current members of the Association.

SUMMARY:  The Regimental Association provides an effective means of promoting esprit de corps and increasing communication within the Transportation Corps.
