The South Dakota Coyote Wheels Chapter is officially up and running.  We have a great start with over 40 Charter members.

The Coyote Wheels Chapter recently held their annual TC Dining-In.  64 Transportation Corps members were present for a fun filled evening.   MG Mike Gorman, The Adjutant General for South Dakota was the guest speaker and provided remarks on Future Force Transformation and relevance of the Transportation Corps to the total force.  MG Gorman had words of praise for all three truck companies from the SDARNG that mobilized, deployed and returned home safely from OIF.  These units are the 1742nd TC Co (Med), 740th TC Co (Med) and the 727th TC Co (PLS).  He challenged them to keep their focus on personnel and equipment readiness as they reset their units, and also paid great tribute to the soldiers, families and employers whose sacrifice did not go unnoticed.

Six members of the chapter were awarded the prestigious Military Order of Saint Christopher.  Receiving the St Christopher award at the Dining-In were LTC Martin Comes, LTC Tom Croymans, MAJ Marlon Thompson, CSM Mike Birnbaum, MSG Bryan DeBaere and SFC (Ret) David Jacobson.

The Coyote Wheels has purchased three "Despite All Obstacles" prints by Stiver from TCRA, and will be raffling them off for the initial fund raiser for the Chapter.   The initial goal of the Coyote Wheels chapter is to keep the transporters in South Dakota informed and engaged in Transportation Corps matters.  The Chapter will serve as a means of continuing the excellent climate of esprit de corps and camaraderie among the transportation professionals in South Dakota.  Persons interested in becoming a member of the chapter may contact LTC Scott Jacobson, President, at scott.jacobson@sd.ngb.army.mil, or MAJ Marlon Thompson, Secretary, at marlon.thompson@sd.ngb.army.mil

Thanks, Scott
